The heart of INDRA Recycling GmbH.

Metal recycling

We don't get our industry-wide reputation as a cutting-edge recycling company out of nowhere. For example, we are one of only 15 companies throughout Europe to own a 30 metre float/sink plant. This operates according to Archimedes' law of buoyancy and the associated principle of specific gravity. Pieces of metal of between 15 and 100 mm in size are separated in the float/sink plant, producing three main groups of materials:

  • organic materials, e.g. wood, rubber, plastics
  • light metals, e.g. aluminium alloys, copper cable fragments
  • heavy metals, e.g. brass, copper, chrome, nickel, zinc, lead

The refined material from the float/sink plant is processed and separated using other innovative technologies which remove the very last impurities and produce heterogeneous secondary raw materials.
